Caucus Cites Guy’s Commitment to Racial Justice and Diversity
Democrat Craig Guy is announcing that he has been endorsed by the Hudson County Black Caucus in the race for County Executive. Black Caucus leaders are citing Guy’s long career in public service and his commitment to prioritizing diversity and racial justice in county government.
“I know that Craig Guy will be a true partner to Black elected officials and community leaders as County Executive and that he will prioritize policies that will help Black Hudson County residents thrive,” said Assemblywoman Angela McKnight. “Craig is a thoughtful and experienced Democratic leader who has always supported our members and worked to prioritize diversity and inclusion. We are proud to stand with him now and endorse him for County Executive.”
Guy is running a campaign that is centered around advocating for Democratic values like protecting voting rights, increasing access to affordable housing, and prioritizing diversity in Hudson County’s law enforcement.
“I am so honored to receive the endorsement of the Hudson County Black Caucus led by Assemblywoman McKnight, and I pledge to work closely with her and all members to advocate for the issues that are most critical for all Hudson County residents,” said Craig Guy. “I am proud to have served in county government working with Tom DeGise, where our cabinet was over 50% women, and 50% of those were women of color. I’m committed to growing these numbers, and to championing racial justice in government, as well as in our schools, police departments, and throughout Hudson County. I look forward to continuing to partner with Assemblywoman McKnight and the entire Black Caucus to get this done.”
Craig Guy has previously been endorsed by leading Democratic elected officials like Governor Phil Murphy, Senator Bob Menendez, Senator Cory Booker, and all 12 of Hudson County’s Mayors, as well as leadership from the statewide and Hudson County Fraternal Order of Police and the Hudson County Building Trades.
