CLC Endorses Guy Along With Kopacz, Romano, and O'Dea in their Races for County Commissioner
Democratic candidate for Hudson County Executive Craig Guy is announcing that he has been endorsed by the Hudson Central Labor Council. The Hudson CLC is also endorsing Guy’s running mates County Commissioners Kenneth Kopacz, Anthony Romano and William O'Dea in their respective races.
“I am thrilled to endorse Craig Guy for County Executive because he has always demonstrated that he will show up for working people and support labor unions in Hudson County,” said Barry Kushnir, CLC President. “Craig has been a true partner to organized labor and I look forward to continuing to work with him to deliver for the working families of Hudson County.”
Guy has already proven to be a fierce advocate for organized labor. As Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise’s Chief of Staff, he made sure that construction of the Frank J. Guarini Justice Complex in Jersey City is built with 100% union labor, employing hundreds of union construction workers from a variety of trades. He also worked to ensure that other major county projects are built with union labor and that all workers are paid a prevailing wage.
“I am, and will always be, a champion for union labor and the rights of workers to collectively bargain,” said Craig Guy. “Union labor is integral to Hudson County, and to our identity as Americans. I look forward to working with the Central Labor Council and all of my union brothers and sisters to stand up for the rights of working men and women in our community.”
Craig Guy has previously been endorsed by leading Democratic elected officials like Governor Phil Murphy, Senator Bob Menendez, Senator Cory Booker, and all 12 of Hudson County’s Mayors, as well as leadership from the statewide and Hudson County Fraternal Order of Police and the Hudson County Building Trades.
