Police Unions Endorse Guy’s Campaign, Cite Long Career in Public Service and Work as a Police Officer
Hudson County Executive candidate Craig Guy is announcing that he has received the endorsement of the Fraternal Order of Police of New Jersey as well as the Jersey City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 4. Both the statewide and local organizations are praising Guy’s extensive experience as a police officer and his commitment to public safety and supporting law enforcement in government.
“Craig Guy is a dedicated and experienced public servant, and am looking forward to working with him to serve Hudson County,” said Bob Fox, FOP NJ President. “As a retired law enforcement officer Craig brings a unique perspective to elected office that will allow him to keep the communities he serves safe and support the essential work of police officers in Hudson County.”
The Fraternal Order of Police is the largest organization of police and law enforcement in the state, committed to advocating for those who serve through education, community involvement, and legislation.
“Craig Guy’s long and varied career in public service, as a police officer as well as his work in government, makes him the ideal candidate for Hudson County,” said Bob Gries, FOP NJ Executive Vice President. “He has been dedicated to serving his community for his entire life and I have full confidence that he is the right candidate to deliver real results to the county.”
Guy is also being endorsed by the Jersey City FOP Lodge 7, which represents hundreds of local officers.
“There is no question that Craig has the experience, expertise, and dedication for the job,” said Detective Joe Vesey, FOP Lodge 4 President. “His long career as a police officer gives him the on-the-ground perspective to effectively advocate for our county’s law enforcement and the communities that they protect.”
“I am thrilled to endorse Craig for Hudson County Executive,” said Sgt. Robert Vogt, FOP Lodge 4 former President. “As a police officer for more than two decades, and a member of the FOP for 44 years, Craig has proven that he will be a champion for Hudson County, and will work tirelessly to keep our communities safe.”
Craig Guy has previously been endorsed by leading Democratic elected officials like Governor Phil Murphy, Senator Bob Menendez, Senator Cory Booker and all 12 of Hudson County’s Mayors.
“As a member of the Fraternal Order of Police for more than four decades, it is a huge honor to have earned these endorsements,” said Craig Guy. “Throughout my career I have been dedicated to uplifting our county’s law enforcement officers, and ensuring that Hudson County’s police departments have the resources, training, and support that they need to keep us safe. As the next County Executive I will continue this work. I look forward to working with the law enforcement community in Hudson County, including members of the new police academy and my friends at Lodge 4 to get it done.”
