Guy Reinforces Commitment to Women and Minority Leadership in Hudson County, Standing up for Women’s Rights
On International Women’s Day, Hudson County Executive candidate Craig Guy is celebrating the central role that women play in Hudson County Government, and reinforcing his commitment to appointing women and minority leaders in his administration. Under current County Executive Tom DeGise, half of the cabinet leadership positions are held by women, many of whom are also women of color.
“For two decades, Craig and I have worked to build an administration that is not only responsive to the needs of our people—but looks like them as well,” said Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise. “So it should come as no surprise that half our cabinet positions are held by women, most of those, women of color. And that the majority of our deputy directors, division chiefs, and coordinators are female. On this International Women’s Day, I know Craig remains a fierce advocate for the concerns of women in our community and will only build on the progress we have made in addressing those concerns in the years ahead."
Craig Guy is running for County Executive as a proud Democrat and is committed to protecting the rights of women in Hudson County, including protecting a women’s right to choose. Appointing women to leadership positions at all levels of government is integral to this mission, and Guy is emphasizing his commitment to inclusion and diversity throughout his administration.
“I am so proud that under County Executive DeGise we have made it a priority to appoint women as leaders throughout the government, and I will continue to make sure that my administration is a reflection of the people that we serve,” said Craig Guy. “If we are truly going to represent the interests of everyone in Hudson County, we must continue to elevate diverse voices. I will make this a central priority of my administration.”
